Minnesota Twins’ Player Leaves Game After Injury

Minnesota Twins’ shortstop Carlos Correa had to leave Monday’s game after the first inning. He left the game because he suffered an injury. He aggravated his plantar fasciitis in his left foot. The two-time all-star shortstop went into the shallow left field to catch a popup ball in the bottom of the first inning. Cincinnati Reds’ infielder Kyle Farmer pinch-hit for him one out in the top of the second. Carlos Correa has a career .272 hitter. This season he is a .230. Carlos Correa has 18 home runs, 65 RBIs and 60 runs. He has been dealing with the pain over the weekend. The injury happened four months ago. The Minnesota Twins’ lost Monday night’s game to the Cincinnati Reds’ 7-3.

Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes Gets Big Payday

Kansas City Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes has received a big payday. The Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes have come to an agreement about his contract. He will be receiving over $210 million between 2023 -2026. This is the most money in NFL history during a four-season span. He will be guaranteed this money for four years. Patrick Mahomes and the team will go over the agreement again in 2026. The Chiefs’ quarterback became the highest NFL player in 2020 when he signed a 10-year contract worth $450 million. There hasn’t been any other player that has topped that contract in value. There have been quarterbacks who have made more money in annual pay. Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson, Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts, Los Angeles Chargers’ Justin Herbert and Cincinnati Bengels’ Joe Burrow make more money than Patrick Mahomes annually. Patrick Mahomes was the eighth highest paid quarterback before the new contract. He will be getting paid over $52 million a year over the next four seasons.

Michigan State Plans To Fire Head Coach

Michigan State Spartans let head football coach Mel Tucker know that they plan to terminate his contract because of the allegations against him. There was evidence of misconduct that warranted his termination. The team sent him a letter informing him of the termination. Athletic director Alan Haller delivered the letter to the head coach. The five-page letter stated that Mel Tucker had unprofessional and unethical behavior. Mel Tucker has been suspended without pay after the allegations emerged. The school hired an independent investigator who has been examining the allegations since they occurred. His suspension came after the allegations entered media reports.

The letter makes it perfectly clear that he was fired with cause unless he can provide a reason why the allegations aren’t true. He is supposed to be let go in seven days. The disgraced head coach has $79 million left on his contract. The school is trying to get out of paying him with the firing. Alan Haller explained why the letter was written to Mel Tucker. Alan Haller said the things Mel Tucker admitted to doing breached his contract. It gave the school grounds to fire him. Mel Tucker issued a public statement with his attorney that broke his contract. Whenever Mel Tucker made public comments they were supposed to be positive and constructive. He referred to the pending hearing about the harassment charges as a sham. Mel Tucker also harmed the school’s public image. The hearing is still going to happen even though Mel Tucker was fired.

Colorado State Player And Family Get Death Threats

Colorado State defensive back Henry Blackburn and his family have been receiving death threats. The University Police Department and local authorities were looking into the threats. Henry Blackburn gave an illegal hit to Colorado Buffaloes’ receiver/corner Travis Hunter during the first half of Saturday’s game. This caused Travis Hunter an undisclosed injury. Henry Blackburn and his family were threatened before the double overtime victory. Henry Blackburn and his mother’s phone numbers were published on the internet. His campus address and home address were also published online. Athletic director Joe Parker said the university and local police are working to investigate the threats made against Henry Blackburn and his family. The defensive back and his family received threatening phone calls and text messages. He also received threats on social media. The team is worried about Henry Blackburn and his family’s safety. According to Joe Parker, Henry Blackburn never meant to put anyone in danger on the football field. This behavior was not taught or coached. They hope the harassment stops soon.
